Are you interested in launching your own business or expanding a business you’ve already started? Join Dr. April Glasco, Founder, and CEO of Second Chance Last Opportunity (SCLO), and her team for a series of workshops beginning on Thursday, November 16, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Each virtual session with Dr. April Glasco will provide insight into Dr. Glasco’s own life story. By sharing her experiences, participants will hear and witness Dr. Glasco’s passion, learn about her purpose, which led to her success, and what continues to inspire her today. Dr. Glasco was the owner of two businesses before establishing Second Chance Last Opportunity 31 years ago. She has experienced homelessness but is now the proud owner of two homes. She is also the author of five books, a talk show radio host, and a motivational public speaker on women’s empowerment. These workshops are open to everyone—whether you’re dreaming of becoming successful, or already experiencing success but need encouragement to persevere. Participants will be guided to identify their goals and to discover themselves in new ways. They will also be encouraged and inspired to achieve their dreams. Each session will include a discussion period, with Dr. Glasco responding to participants’ questions. You can register to participate in one or more sessions.
Zoom Session Schedule
Session One
Monday, November 30, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. We will begin with a documentary on Dr. April Glasco’s life story, including her journey from living in poverty to being a successful business owner today. What were the challenges she had to overcome? What skills, resources, and personal practices were most helpful to her in moving from despair to achieving success and fulfillment?
Session Two
Monday, December 14, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Dr. Glasco will discuss how she drew on her own life experiences and her commitment to helping others to establish Second Chance Last Opportunity as a non-profit organization. What inspired her vision? What were the obstacles she faced in the beginning? Where did she find support and help? What are some of the keys to achieving and maintaining success?
Session Three
December 15 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Everyone has a story to share. Are you ready to share yours? Dr. Glasco will explain how she became the author of five books. What were the challenges she faced as she began to write? How did she choose the topics to write about? What kept her going and what has been the response to her books?
Session Four
December 21 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thirty-one years ago Dr. Glasco established SCLO to serve the underserved youth and their families in the community. After taking that step, what were her vision and goals as she grew her organization? What were the steps she had to take to receive 501(c)(3) non-profit status? What are the demands of time, energy, and money needed to sustain the organization?
